It works for me and my usage habits. I saw a video speech by an Apple Exec. were he addressed the question about 3G capability. It was a matter of battery life. With 3G capability they took a real hit with battery life. They felt that until they could guarantee a full days usage(mainly phone usage I suspect) with 3G on it would be impracticable. Lack of wider standards in the mobile industry go from hardware to software - different screen sizes, music formats, input methods, use of softkeys, etc. Developing an OS for the wider market in this environment is going to be a challenge if a non-targeted approach is taken, but maybe I'm wrong.
