I do the following to add a custom reing tone to my iPhone 1.1.3 with iTunes 7.6:
I open a mp3 file in wavepad and then select 39 seconds to use as ringtone. I copy from the mp3 file and then paste the selected into a new project in wavepad. Save the file as a m4a file. Next change the extention to m4r and open in iTunes. Itunes will imprt the file to the ringtone folder. Next select it to sync in iTune from the ringtones tab and your there.

As original (but more commonly unoriginal), you think your new ringtone is, it bothers most everyone around you when they have to hear it. The volume, intensity, duration and overall sound makes most people cringe. This is especially true when riding on the ‘L’ and last minute homework is a necessity.
Perhaps the worst case scenario is going through the long list of ringtones you have already used, including the generic ones, simply because you have nothing better to do with your time.
On another note, no one wants to hear the song you are listening to on your ipod either. For the benefit of your hearing in the future, turn down the song. No one cares that you have good taste in music unless they feel the need to attract the attention of a potential interest through the same means.
In order to no longer disturb everyone around you, turn your phone on vibrate and stick it in your pocket. It is greatly appreciated.

Ringtones!, a young, vibrant barbershop quartet hailing from both sides of the border, formed on New Years Eve 2005. They have a combined age of 90 and come together with varying degrees of barbershop experience, from having never sung in a quartet before to having sung several times on the International Stage.
Members are Samantha Swanson (18), of Nashua, NH on tenor, Jennifer Wheaton (22), of St. Hubert, Quebec on lead, Julia Borsari (19), of Peterborough, NH on baritone and Lindsay Chartier (way older(31)) of Montreal, Quebec on bass. Ringtones! is a member of Harmony Incorporated.
We were thrilled and honored to be named Area 2’s 2007 Quartet Champion, and even more amazed and humbled to become the third-place medalists at the 2007 International Competition.
We get together to rehearse and have fun together as often as we can!
