K850i low volume

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Quite impressed by the sound on the K850i, but the volume doesn’t go up high enough, especially if you’re travelling (bus or train for example). Does anyone know of another headset I could buy that would get a higher volume?

3G vs. Edge, 16 gig etc… Apple sucks

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

What do you think?
Went to an Apple store in December said to the guy, “should I wait 6 monts to buy an iPhone cause it will probably be better then?”

aswer: “no way anything is changing with the hardware, only thing that will happen is that it will be open to developers and there will be a ton more software for it but that won’t matter because you can download it. Hardware won’t change.”

I get an iPhone in January. Now it looks like they will have a 3g phone out soon allowing you to actually use the internet, and you can now get a 16gig phone.

I’m stuck with this one and can’t return or exchange it.

I’m selling it on ebay and will never get an Apple product of any sort ever again.

Am I overlooking something?

Erased SMS and Call Logs

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

I’ve noticed that from time to time my SMS and my Call Logs and sometimes my old e-mails get deleted at the same time for no apparent reason. But it’s been doing it all day since yesterday. It doesn’t even let me receive messages… they get deleted instantly. I don’t know if it’s happening because the device memory is full. Just in case I’ve already transferred everything to the memory card to see if this resolves the problem. Has this happened to anyone? Do any of you know why it’s happening?

Windows Mobile to iPhone

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

I’ve dumped my Vario II to get an iPhone. I am finding it an absolute revelation to use. The mobile browsing is what makes it streets ahead but everything is just so smooth.

Internet speeds on the road are quite slow but still usable. Once connected to wi-fi, it is in a class of it’s own. I can’t type quite as fast on it but because there’s no stylus to get out every time, it saves time before you start.

There aren’t any add-on bits of software like on the Windows phones yet but I found they all just caused my ppc to crash every 5 minutes anyway. Good riddance I say. Instead there are “Web apps” like widgets being developed.

The only faults I can find so far are so small, I’m not even gonna mention them.

Basically, it just works and you’ll wonder how and why Windows Mobile was ever even launched.

Nokia N73 Upgrading Firmware

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Anyone else here tired upgrading from a Normal N73 to a Music Edition as decribed on some blog.

Just so you guys know, I did! The first time didnt go so well and after a couple of days of research and deliberation, I found out my mistake.
The first time I tried upgrading, it sorta resulted in a type of system lockdown. Giving me a msg such as “Phone start-up failed. Please contact retailer.”
And so I did, and lucky they were the ppl from Chinatown who do basically anything for a bit of money, the retailers, that is. They sorta reflashed my phone to its original firmware. So when I got it back I got my old version phone..
So, what did I do?
IMMEIDATLY after I got the phone back I tried the update agian!! lol..
(Took a lot of guts cu it costed me $80 to have it fixed last time)
But this time I knew what I did wrong. After a while of a blank screen, I saw the Nokia logo, then and handshake, and then BAM MUSIC EDITION.
Sweet new theme as well and the two new included music enhancements, “stereo widening and loudness” ARE GREAT. Stereo widening does exactly what it sounds like it does, it basically stretches the sound to make music sound like it’s actually around you. (Well not really around you but just makes it so that you can hear the music more “horizontally”(?), it’s hard to describe but once you hear the difference you’ll be amazed. The loudness function is pretty good as well it is meant for the stereo widening tho, without it w/ SW on, it sounhds hollow, but w/ it on it gives more depth to the music.

Note this will most likely not work for about maybe 5% of the N73’s out there for some reason, usually varies so try on your own risk~.

As for ppl who have done this or even went above and beyond to Internet Edition please share your experiences :P

iPhone the mobile phones answer to Paris Hilton

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

iPhone the mobile phones answer to Paris Hilton:
Everyone’s talking about the iPhone. That’s hardly surprising when Apple, with the help of its many loyal disciples, has created a level of hype never seen before in the mobile industry.

There’s no doubt Apple is a unique company. But over the years, it has developed a fan base that at times resembles a new religious movement. Many of those fans have the attitude that everything Apple creates is fantastic, and that if you can’t see this, or disagree, you’re either the devil himself or need serious psychological attention.
